Got a new and freaking fast SSD, but don't know how to migrate from your big slow HHD?
There is a fast way!
I've recently got my GSkill SLC 64gb SSD and spent a lot of time figuring out how to migrate my OS. I just didn't want to reinstall my loved Win2008 and all the funky software i have.
The guys on the web suggested Acronis True Image, but it's expensive and is an overkill for the task.
There is an easy software, that is called Acronis Migrate Easy that is avaliable directly from Acronis with a 15 days trial, which is plenty for a weekend migration.
There is a small catch, however. Be sure to move your old data to another HDD.
The total occupied data size from all the partitions of your old HDD should be less than the size of your new SSD. After that you can use Migrate Easy.
It should take something like an hour, after which your OS will much faster : ). Mine went down from 3-4 minutes to 49 seconds : ). My T61p is happy.
